Another Federal election, another dismal array of candidates here in Macarthur.
With the Liberal Party's lurch to the right, I cannot support them any longer. Prime Minister Morrison himself described the Liberals last year as a "Muppet Show". I hope they lose.
The gap between the Libs and Labor leaves a growing hole in the political spectrum. I'm a political moderate but there is no centrist party, no moderate candidate here.
I can't support the big spending, big taxing, trade union dominated Labor Party or the Socialist ideals of the Greens on the left of the hole. Nor can I support the appalling parties who are even further to the right than the Liberals are.
Out of seven candidates, three were to the left and four were to the right, with nothing in the centre. My conscience would not allow me to vote for any of them so in early voting, I gave them all a [ 7 ].
So it was an informal vote in the House of Representatives but a fomal vote in the Senate, where I looked for moderate parties who were campaigning for climate change in particular but also other sensible policies. These were who I voted for:
[ 1 ] Science Party
[ 2 ] Climate Change Now Party
[ 3 ] Sustainable Australia Party
[ 4 ] Australian People's Party
[ 5 ] Together Party
[ 6 ] Women's Party
[ 7 ] Seniors Party (no policy on climate change)
I will resume voting for the Liberal Party when the Liberal Party resumes being a liberal party.
