We are all equal.
Gay or straight; male, female or anything in-between; coloured or white; handicapped; religious or non-believer.
Yet thirty-four Anglican School principals - five of them based here in Macarthur - wrote a disgraceful public letter demanding the right for themselves to sack teachers because they are gay.
Not because they are incompetent, not because they have done something wrong - but because of who they love.
My letter in response was published in the local newspaper:
Macarthur Advertiser, 7th November 2018
It seems that only religious institutions (not all of them) promote discriminatory attitudes against certain minorities.
They think they are morally superior to the many people who don't share their beliefs and seek to teach children that discrimination and bullying behaviour against people they dislike is normal.
