It is good practice and I recommend training the drives every 3-6 months, in daylight.

the telescope without aligning.

Navigate the Autostar/Audiostar menu to : Setup\Telescope\Train Drive\Az Train.

Centre
a distant object using arrow keys.

4.
|
Enter.
Scope slews to left.
|
5.
|
Bring
target back using arrow key.
|
6.
|
Enter.
Scope slews to right.
|
7.
|
Bring
target back using arrow key.
|
8.
|
Return
to Az Train.
|
9.
|
Alt
Train.
|
10.
|
Centre
a distant object using arrow keys.
|
11.
|
Enter.
Scope slews down.
|
12.
|
Bring
target back using arrow key.
|
13.
|
Enter.
Scope slews up.
|
14.
|
Bring
target back using arrow key.
|
|
|
It's a simple procedure which should be a regular routine maintenance exercise.
