And so another dictator dies. The world is well rid of Fidel Castro.
I absolutely condemn Castro for a reign of terror, comparable to Pinochet, Pol Pot, Sadam Hussein, Stalin, Ayatollah Khomeini etc. and those who are praising Castro sicken me.
I don't like communism but I don't condemn Castro for his politics, I condemn him for what he has done.
Trump is on a different level so far but still deserves condemnation - not so much for his politics but for his bad character.
I ask where is the condemnation of Trumps self-acknowledged penchant for unsolicited attacks on women, of his rude and anti-social behaviour (especially towards women)?
What about his "misleading, fraudulent and predatory practices,” - ".....swindling thousands of innocent Americans out of millions of dollars through a scheme known as Trump University.”
The unsettled rape case against a thirteen year old girl?
His outrageous campaign, based on "locking up" the other candidate and his attempts to bribe journalists?
His support for torture and general encouragement of violence.
His divisive denigration of people who don’t look like him or pray to his god?
Those who support Trump must be very, very proud, now that they have elected a sexual predator as leader of the Western World!
Trump is no Castro but if the Republican Party leadership had imposed a 'Character Test' on its candidates before admitting them to the primaries, he would have been rejected outright.
Finally, if Trump was leader of a party, to which I had given total and loyal support for my entire life, my conscience would not permit me to remain under the leadership of this person. I would have resigned from the party, because personal integrity is more important than politics.
Trump's election to the White House is a prime example of the triumph of political loyalty over human integrity.
