Here we go again. Discrimination dressed up in a fancy nationalistic sugar coated letter:
Macarthur Chronicle Campbelltown, 21st January 2014
My letter in response missed the deadline and was not published:
Madam Editor,
In her Australia Day Message to Campbelltown last year, Ms Bond informed us
that Australia was founded on Christian Principles.
In this year’s Annual Message, she has morphed it into committing to our
"Judeo-Christian Heritage”. It’s beginning to get more
complicated - but it’s divisive and it’s unnecessary.
Our national day is a day of pride for all Australians - with no strings
attached - and Australia Day is a non-religious celebration of nationhood.
Nothing more.
While the community uses Australia Day to unite and celebrate, she is
misusing it to point at those who may not share her militant religious beliefs
and say “Not you”.
