With the polarmeter on my Vixen Polarie camera mount, I have been getting better images.
Fortunately, Comet 2012 F6 Lemmon came along at the right time and the viewing has been favourable from my vicinity. Lemmon has been coasting through the Southern constellations of Crux, Musca, Chamaelion and Octans and its green/blue coma has been relatively easy to find.
I did not buy the Polarie mount to view compact objects and the manufacturer states that it is for wide angle astro-photography but nevertheless I felt compelled to try out my 135mm lens and see if I could pick out a tail.
This was the latest result, using reversed black and white to bring out the long faint tail:
The background smudging was from wispy clouds that I did not see visully and it proved impossible (for me) to eliminate them in post-image processing.
