The things that God's anointed representatives get up to. One of my frequently visited blog sites is Deep Thoughts. The hard-working author does a great job in chronicling the deeds of law-breaking clergy, mainly in the U.S.A.
This is a sample page, now let me see if I got this one right:
Two pastors charged with drug offences; one charged with multiple fraudulent marriages; one charged with conspiracy, stealing & fraud; three charged with sexual assault of women and underage girls; and one charged with defying a court order. All in one week.
I will remember that next time I hear religious leaders lecture the rest of us about morality.
It seems that in the clergy, sex wins by a mile, fraud and money offences come second, drugs are next - whilst morality comes last.
Then, when they are arrested and charged, do the fine law-abiding people of the congregation criticise them or change their church? Nope. They criticise the messenger, pillory the victims and support the perpetrator. That's religion for you.
