I just love the accuracy of science and the astonishing availability of such precise information.
Overnight I received an alert that the International Space Station would cross the disk of Saturn today, at 10h34m09.56s from my home location. (Transit duration=0.01s, angular diameter of ISS=40.2", angular diameter of Saturns disc=17.1".)
That would be quite a difficult task to record, for more reasons than one - but I look forward to one day seeing some genius recording a planetary occultation by an earth orbiting satellite. We've seen some amazing pictures of satellites passing in front of the lunar/solar discs, which were almost certainly made possible by accurate scientific predictions, rather than chance.
