Now their attempts to avoid a Royal Commission have failed, they suddenly "welcome" it.
The Macarthur Advertiser reported this week that Peter Ingham, the Catholic bishop of the Wollongong diocese that covers Campbelltown, has "loudly welcomed Prime Minister Julia Gillard's announcement of a Royal Commission into child sex abuse in institutions — including the Catholic church."
Another hollow man.
This Royal Commission was twenty years overdue but like George Pell, Mr. Ingham's support for victims of priest rape did not extend to calling for a Royal Commission. His "loud welcome" only came after the Prime Minister announced the Royal Commission which his organisation had tried so hard to avoid.
No doubt next Sunday he will be in the pulpit again, lecturing people on their morality.
It's sickening.
