The lady wrote two similar but non-identical letters to our two local newspapers this week. Both were published just prior to Australia Day.
Both letters were thinly veiled expressions of her erroneous theory that, 'to be Australian, you need to be a pious Christian, otherwise go back where you came from'. Her two letters, each with my response, follow below:
First, her Macarthur Chronicle letter:
and my response, which was published in The Chronicle on 31st January 2012, as follows:
They also published a letter from a person who went further back in time to point out that Australia's nation was founded, not on 'christian' principles but on 'British convict' principles. What a good point.

Next, her second similar - but slightly different - letter was published in the Macarthur Advertiser:
and my response, which was published in The Advertiser on 1st February 2012, as follows:

'Un-Australian' is a much over-used term but metaphorically draping yourself in an Australian flag and telling people to get out, if they don't conform with your very narrow christian views is not only 'un-Australian', I am sure it is 'un-christian' too.
