Aug 27: Survey on a survey.
A new survey commissioned by the Marriage Equality "Yes" Campaign was conducted last week by Newgate Research and surveyed 1000 people online with a 3% error margin.
The survey asked if they will vote yes or no in the forthcoming Australia-wide Government sponsored survey:
- Religious: 58% Yes
- Non-religious: 79% Yes
- All Australians: 66% Yes
A majority of Catholics, Anglicans & Uniting Church and Non-Christian Religions will vote "yes".

This postal survey is unnecessary; it is discriminatory; it is expensive; and it is demeaning.
Q. Why is there a survey at all?
A. There is no reason in particular, it's just their policy!
Still, after years of discussion on this matter, I have yet to hear a sensible or reasonable argument against Marriage Equality.
Now church leaders are threatening their flock with reprisals and demanding that any future legislation must exclude them from any anti-discrimination legislation. Charming people!
So, we bring in legislation to eliminate discrimination and they want the legal right to exclude themselves!
