Only 17% of the population in Great Britain now support the Church of England!
The NatCen’s British Social Attitudes survey finds that:
- The percentage of people who say they have no religion has risen to 49% of all people in Britain, up from 31% in 1983 and 43% in 2004".
- The proportion of British adults who say they are Anglican fell from 40% in 1983 to 17% in 2014.

How astounding is it that the State sponsored "Established Church of England" - of which Queen Elizabeth II is "Defender of the Faith" - can be floundering with only 8.6 million supporters left now, in an adult population of 50.5 million?
The only certainties out of all this are that despite the data, the UK Government will continue to pretend secularists don't exist; and will continue to describe Britain as "a Christian Country"!
