Apr 19: The Beginning Of The End For Christianity
A Morgan poll has revealed that Christianity will probably be a minority group within the next few years.
The survey states: "Easter Sunday may celebrate Christ rising, but the proportion of Australians who identify as Christian is falling fast, down over 8% points in the last two years. If the current downward trend were to continue, Christians will soon be in the minority in Australia, the latest research from Roy Morgan shows."
The figures stated in the poll are:
Late 2011:
Christians: 60.9%
No religion: 29.2%
Other Belief: 7.6%
Last Quarter 2013:
Christians: 52.6% (-8.3%)
No religion: 37.6% (+8.4%)
Other Belief: 8.3% (+0.7%)
The survey was of Australians aged fourteen and over.
