Whilst the politicians argue or deny it, the global average temperature keeps rising.
Even many people who argue against taking action on climate change will admit when asked that the average global temperature is rising.
It is rising:
Since we began pouring CO2 into the atmosphere at the commencement of the Industrial Era, the global CO2 concentration has risen. You would have to be barmy to say this is just a coincidence.
Since the middle of the 20th century, Australian temperatures have, on average, risen by about 1°C with an increase in the frequency of heatwaves and a decrease in the numbers of frosts and cold days.
Each decade has been warmer than the previous decade since the 1950s.
Australian annual average daily maximum temperatures have increased by 0.75 °C since 1910.
Australian annual average daily mean temperatures have increased by 0.9°C since 1910.
Australian annual average overnight minimum temperatures have warmed by more than 1.1 °C since 1910.
2010 and 2011 were Australia’s coolest years recorded since 2001 due to two consecutive La Niña events but the summer of 2012-13 saw record breaking temperature extremes.
We must learn to listen to what the scientists are telling us. Global Warming is likely to become the biggest crisis mankind has ever faced. Yet there are many people who guffaw at Global Warming and there are many politicians who deny it exists or will try to tell us that they can beat it without financial cost. Sigh.....
